Glinda and I have been so busy. A little busier than I even expected. So much for my grand scheme of trying to upload videos each day. Not only have I been busy going from one place to another, but I’ve also discovered that if I’m in a location that has signal, I’m usually not in a situation to blog. When I have some downtime, I don’t have great signal to upload blog posts and photos.
So, let me see if I can provide a few posts and summarize some fabulous stores, great events, and new friends I’ve met along the way.
After my last blog post on my way up the East Coast, my first planned stop was at The Crafter’s Workshop warehouse. My plan was to stop there and pick up the booth for The Collins Rep show and some extra supplies before heading to Boston area.
Well, on the way there, Glinda and I were run off the road outside of Baltimore. As we were merging over to take an exit on the right, another small car cut in front of us and I had to swerve back to the left to keep from crashing into the smaller car. The problem was there was really no where to go toward the left as it was where two main freeways split from each other. I’m slamming on brakes to keep from going into the median guardrail coming at me and Glinda was bouncing all over the place. Her right rear tire hit a drainage grate and I thought for sure she came off the hitch. Thankfully, she didn’t and once I realized I was ok, I finally got back on the road. However, I discoverd that the bouncing busted up the back left side of Glinda and it had become totally separated.
Thankfully, I am truly blessed with great friends. Once I got to Jaime’s house (owner of The Crafter’s Workshop), she took great care of me. It was late when I got in, but she had a comfy bed all ready. The next morning I really got to see the damage and was a little stressed. However, she took me out to eat and when we got back, Glinda was all fixed! She put a call out to a friend of hers and he stopped by and put Glinda back together. I cannot put into words how thankful I was. Here is a pic above right after getting fixed. He even brought me some white aluminum paint to touch her up with after the new caulk dried.
Off to Boston we went. I was excited to be teaching a sold-out class! We had a great time playing with The Crafter’s Workshop stencils with a Canvas Corp album and DecoArt mixed media paints
I set up The Crafter’s Workshop Booth and had a fun time meeting store owners and talking to them about our fabulous stencils while taking orders.
After The Collins Rep Show, I talked Eileen Hull into going camping (since she hadn’t really used Scotty for camping) with me. We found a BEAUTIFUL campsite in Sturbridge, Massachusetts and parked right up to this lovely lake you can see at the beginning of my post. If you look closely, you can see Glinda and Scotty are parked together. We had a great night relaxing, roasting hot dogs and marshmallows, and enjoying some fellowship time together around a campfire. It was the best way to end a busy week. I spent the next few days here by myself trying to get caught up on some computer work (without good internet) and taking some quiet time for myself before my schedule became crazy busy going from one location to the next. I’m even more grateful for that time now and am truly glad I added that to my schedule. I need to rememer to do that more often, even when I’m not Traveling The Art LIfe™
