I have been distraught the past few days. A student of mine, from when I taught Spanish to eighth graders at a middle school, has died in a car accident. Most students I barely remember from his class, but I remember him. He was the kind of student you'd like to remember, the kind of student you wish all students emulated.
His death stunned me. He was so young. His poor parents! All I could think of was how his mother must feel. Not that his father would feel any different, but being a mom myself, I would have more of an understanding of what his mother would feel..
I'm working on an article on HubPages about it, how it has moved me to make some parenting changes in my life.
This is for all parents out there, especially those who have lost children. May you be blessed by remembering the life that was lost, cherishing the life that remains.
