WhatsApp, the popular mobile messaging app, now owned by Facebook, has just landed on the web. All the addicted users can now WhatsApp with their friends from the web without having to hurt their fingers with the touch keyboard on phones.

All you need to start WhatsApp Web is the latest version of the app installed on your phone, which now comes with a QR scanning option. Load the WhatsApp Web page on your Google Chrome and you will be presented with a QR code to scan and detect with your phone. Now open WhatsApp on your phone and hit options button to bring up the WhatsApp Web feature, which will let you scan the QR code. After scanning, you will be able to use the app from the web.

The app uses a connection with the phone for relaying messages. That means you will need your phone online and connected to the internet the whole time to send and receive messages using the web app. So, keep and eye out for your data charges, if you don’t have Wi-Fi.

WhatsApp Web is currently only available for Android, Windows Phone and BlackBerry users,  no iOS due to Apple platform limitations.
