To ensure that Husker fans know the necessities of all upcoming opponents, every week Husker Locker will be previewing Nebraska’s upcoming foe. This week: The Wyoming Cowboys

Didn’t Bob Devaney used to coach at Wyoming?
Bob Devaney was the Cowboys’ head coach from 1957-1961 before leaving for Nebraska. He finished his tenure at Wyoming with a 35-10-5 record.
Have Nebraska and Wyoming ever met before?
Yes, five times and all games were played in Lincoln. Nebraska has won all five contests with the most recent being a 42-32 win in 1994. This will mark the fourth straight time that the Cornhuskers will play the Cowboys ranked in the top ten.
Did You Know?
Former NFL tight end Jay Novacek is a Wyoming alum. Novacek is a three-time Super Bowl champion, five-time Pro Bowl selection and five-time All-Pro selection. He also owns a private hunting ranch in Brady, Nebraska.
Every year, Wyoming plays rival Colorado State for the Bronze Boot. The Boot, worn by CSU Army ROTC instructor Cpt. Dan J. Romero in the Vietnam War, began its purpose as a travelling trophy in 1968. Colorado State leads the series 55-42, but the Cowboys have won the last two meetings.
