Burgundy has been a popular color for a while now, especially since Pantone announced Marsala as it's color of the year last December. Well, be prepared, we haven't seen the last of burgundy and you should expect to find it everywhere in fashion this fall. This isn't necessarily a bag thing. It's such an easy color to incorporate into just about any wardrobe, and in today's post I'm going to show you all the ways you will be able to do it.
What to Wear with All the Burgundy You'll Find In the Stores This Fall
Outfit #1- Burgundy with blackIn this outfit above, I used this basic burgundy sheath dress from Theory and layered a black and white tweed from cardigan from Rebecca Taylor over it. The outfit is finished with a pair of black booties from Vince Camuto, a burgundy handbag from Ann Taylor and stunning statement horn necklace by Nest.
Outfit #2- Burgundy with olive Burgundy and olive is such a rich and beautiful combination. And, speaking of rich color combinations, mid-brown shades like cognac are also stunning. In this outfit, I used this J. Crew field jacket in burgundy to show just how pretty and versatile this color is. Looking for a new coat color this fall? Try burgundy. As you can probably imagine, it will work with anything you wear. With this jacket, I used these fabulous MICHAEL Michael Kors leggings (that one of my clients just purchased. They're fab.) to show how gorgeous this color combination is. I styled the rest of the outfit with this oversized chambray shirt from Madewell, cognac boots from Sam Edelman and finished the outfit with this Lauren Ralph Lauren scarf, olive Vince Camuto crossbody bag and brown stud earrings from Dylan.
Outfit #3- Burgundy with grey Another piece a client of mine tried on was this blush pink layer-style sweater from Ivanka Trump. Unfortunately, the blush shade was too washed out for her. This was a bummer because the style was great. Blush can be a tough color for a lot of people, but if it is color that works for you, try it with burgundy like I did here with these burgundy skinny jeans from Boden. Grey is another fantastic color to wear with burgundy. I used these booties from Lucky Brand, faux suede fringe tote from Nordstrom and earrings from House of Harlow to add a neutral shade to the outfit. Outfit #4- Burgundy with navy Navy is another color that works beautifully with burgundy. if combining these colors together feels too dark soft shades of blue work well with the burgundy, as well. A client of mine recently purchased these adorable burgundy flats and they are so cute I am thinking of going back and getting them myself. If you're looking to add burgundy to your wardrobe in small doses try a pair of shoes. This blue tonal outfit of navy pants from Reiss, a slouchy cardigan from French Connection and a basic t-shirt from Theory gets a punch of color with the burgundy flats. The outfit is finished with a soft blue ZAC Zac Posen bag and layered necklace from Bauble Bar.
Outfit #5- Burgundy and camel Like olive and burgundy, camel and burgundy is so rich and sophisticated. In this outfit, I added this camel corduroy J. Crew blazer to this burgundy cashmere sweater from Repeat. The combination creates this beautiful weekend look with these skinny jeans from Lucky Brand. Another color that works well with burgundy is yellow. Trust me and try it. It may sound as ridiculous as putting balsamic vinegar on vanilla ice cream but, trust me, try it! To finish this outfit I added a pair of yellow flats from Nine West and the rest of the outfit is accessorized with this Lulla Collection scarf, that picks up all the colors of the outfit, these decorative drop earrings from Lauren Ralph Lauren and burgundy tote from Poverty Flats.
