What to wear to work
I like big bows and I cannot lie! This dress (sent to me by Banana Republic) with its menswear details and big, giant bow makes for the perfect office outfit and/or wine tasting attire. I paired it with my nude heels for the post, but it looks just as adorable with a pair beat-up Chucks for a casual weekend outing. On the mornings that I am stuck wondering what to wear to work, this bow-neck Banana Republic dress makes getting dressed easy. With heels or flats, I'm set and ready to go - plus it has pockets (always a bonus)! And, with it's sleeveless style, this dress makes for a great transitional piece from spring to summer, and even fall. It could be layered up with a sheer, long sleeve blouse in early spring, and in the fall it could be layered with a thin but warm, gray turtleneck and some tights. Endless possibilities are what make the wardrobe-world go round, and this dress is a perfect example.
Last weekend Sam and I visited the Boon Fly Cafe, in Napa. It's one of those 'blink and you'll miss it' type of spots. Located off of the Sonoma Highway, it is a restaurant designed in a contemporary roadhouse setting, and shares property with the Carneros Resort and Spa (more on that soon!). It's a cute little red building, with an open and airy loft space inside, and plenty of natural light. The brunch menu is fantastic - be sure to try their doughnuts when visiting.
With a prolonged heatwave here in Northern California, I hope everyone is able to stay safe and cool! Be sure to stay hydrated and be aware of how your body is feeling. Lots and lots of water, and cool, lightweight clothing (like this dress), and plenty of shade. Happy Monday!
