When I got my friend’s invitation to her Bridal Shower, the instructions said “Dress to Impress… don’t forget your hat!” I envisioned a glamorous vision of pearls, red lipstick, and a fabulous black hat that Jennifer Lopez might wear. Notice what’s missing from my vision? What I couldn’t see was my dress. How many invitations have you gotten and you thought to yourself, what am I going to wear?
One hopes that you’d get instructions from the invitation to know what degree of fabulous you should be for the event. If you’re lucky you can look up the venue on the Internet to get an idea of how much money might be spent on food. You might have a friend who is also going to the event and you can bounce ideas off of each other. Sometimes, though, you get no help and you have to go with your gut.
Fun accessories like hats can create a festive atmosphere at a shower.
Chances are you’re like me and you look in your closet, which might be already filled with endless possibilities and find nothing to wear. You look through your latest stack of mail and remember that the coupon you had to your favorite store was taken away in the trash yesterday. You scan your email in-box and find not one but three different stores to find outfits for your latest soirée. You’re in business now and off to the store you go.

I love this skirt but is it appropriate? These pants look amazing on me but will I wear them again. This maxi dress is nice but its simple. This fits great but the color is all wrong! This would be perfect if it weren’t for the fact that it’ll be 1000 degrees that day. We’re not going to the club. Do you hear voices too when you try on clothes? This is typically the conversation I have when I go to the store looking for something specific. It always seems when I don’t have an occasion I find great pieces to wear to this party or that wedding. Those pieces seem to hide though when I need them to be on a rack. LOL You to?

Adara is wear a black polka dotted skirt from Ann Taylor LOFT and a black strapless top from Target. Her silver heels add a touch of sparkle.
