What To Eat When You are Pregnant
Starting a family is something that a lot of women think about. It is that motherly instinct inside of us that gives us a desire to take care of a little person. To feed them, bathe them, and to show them how much we love them and how much we want to protect them. This family all starts with a pregnancy, the most important part of the whole process.
While your little one is growing inside of you, it is your sole responsibility to make sure that you are making it easier for them to stay healthy. That means that you need to be taking it easy and eating foods that are good and wholesome for your body. I know that we have a tendency to be drawn to the unusual and fatty foods, but now is the time to exercise caution.
Broccoli – I love vegetables, but I have to admit they were the last thing that I wanted to eat when I was pregnant. One of my all time favorite vegetable is broccoli. This is a super veggie that will provide you with vitamin A and C. This is twice as good as the carrot and it tastes better too. Along with some good vitamins it is also packed with folic acid that your baby needs. If you are not a huge fan then try to mix it in with some pasta and casseroles.
Avocado – This is another food that I love and you can put it in almost anything, except a drink. This is made up of folic acid, vitamin C, and vitamin B6. Combine these three and you are improving tissue and brain growth for your unborn child. Some women even find that it will help with morning sickness during the first trimester. Just make sure that you eat it when it is ripe. This is great to have in wraps or as a dip. They are high in fat so be careful about how much you consume.
Egg – Eggs are a good source of protein, but you have to be careful which ones you get. We suggest that you eat the organic eggs or DHA eggs. These are all natural and most of them are cage free. That means they do not have anything injected into them. The egg contains omega-3 fatty acid that helps in the growth of the bran and the retina. Some women will begin eating these when they are in the process of learning how to get pregnant fast with their first child to prepare themselves. What better way to start your morning than with scrambled eggs!
Mango – We can’t leave our fruits. Most pregnant women crave sweet things and we cannot be eating chocolate the entire ten months. Mangoes are sweet and contain vitamins A and C. They also taste great in a salad if you are not someone who likes to eat a lot of veggies and needs to add something to change things up. My favorite is to turn it into a natural smoothie and to add a bit of peanut butter. Yum!
Nuts – Nuts make the perfect snack and they contain manganese, magnesium, copper, zinc, selenium, potassium, calcium, and vitamin E. Phew! That is a lot to get out of something so small. They are high in fat, but they are good for your body and they help to boost your baby’s brain development. You can eat them plain or throw them in your next salad. You might not like them at first, but when you learn how to get pregnant fast you also learn how to eat things you never thought you would like.
Yogurt – This is another great snack to have on hand and it tastes great. This contains protein, milk, and folic acid. You can eat this as it comes, turn it into a smoothie, or make a parfait with the mangoes. The possibilities are endless!
