So what is Samsung Kies? The Kies is software which Samsung provide with their mobiles devices. It allows users to sync their content on a desktop PC or Mac. It’s possible to sync a wide range of media including music playlists, photos and Samsung apps. The Kies application can connect to your mobile device through WI-FI. This is a great alternative to cables because which can become faulty and reduce wires cluttering the house.
Kies offers the ability to install firmware updates and create backups which can be restored at a later point. This feature is really useful because users are storing more and more important information on their phones, so regular backups are essential. The Kies should use the WI-FI functionality to make automatic updates, so users don’t have to keep remembering to make back up.
The Samsung Kies is the moobile giants answer to iTunes for Apple devices, but doesn’t offer the same about of functionality. Although it does offer the most essentials such as syncing contact numbers and managing/buying apps.
Kies version 2.0 is available to download on both Windows and Mac OS from Samsung, and they’ll hopefully keep this updated when the latest devices are released.
