What Is The Current Trends Of Renovating Home?

By Anne Mehla

Land space is not increasing as opposed to population which is increasing rapidly. Nevertheless prices of land have gone up significantly and few people can afford to buy an extra acre to put up a new home. This has necessitated people to come up with new styles of renovating their homes to make them a better place to live with their families. These modern styles make maximum use of what is available to remodel the house to be the best it can ever be. The cost of building materials is also skyrocketing day in day out. In the contemporary world, a majority of people are buying materials that are relatively cost effective without compromising the trend and durability of the house. Most of these materials are easy to maintain and clean. Changing climatic conditions have also contributed to people adopting modern trends of renovating homes. These are materials that would keep the house warm during winter seasons and cool during summer periods.

Most of the homes today have modern architectural designs. Because of land space limitations, home owners prefer putting up storeyed houses as compared to bungalows. The interior colors also vary from room to room to complement the purpose of that particular room. For instance, most sitting rooms are painted with bright colors to add a cheerful and welcoming feel. Discussed below are the current trends of renovating homes in today’s world.

Mixed color walls

Most homeowners are renovating their homes in such a way that the interior walls have different colors. The bedroom can be painted green so that it stays dark even during the day while the sitting room and the dinning room can have bright colors so that they naturally lighten up to save electricity costs. The kitchen can painted with orange or cream colors to characterize food colors or to be the same color with the utensils and other gadgets like cooker and fridges in the kitchen. Modern homes also have tiled-floor surfaces that are easy to clean.

Curtains

Modern homes have curtains that blend well with the colors of the wall as well as the floor of the rooms. Curtains at the sitting room usually have light transparent material to allow fresh air in and normally bright colored. This is the reception and rest place of the house where the occupants and visitors stay most of the day so it has to be attractive to give good impression. The curtain at the entrance door has to be the same color as the ones on the windows of the sitting room. The master bedroom is highly private and reserved exclusively for owners. The color of curtains here can be cool to characterize mood of peace, tranquility and harmony. The curtains in the children’s room can have bright colors with cartoon pictures printed on them.

Carpet Style and Colors

The type of carpet in the sitting room should be attractive and easy to clean. Most modern homes have floors that have square-shaped ceramic tiles with a uniform color. It is advisable to match the color of the curtains with that of the carpet. Matched colors carry with them the theme of confidence and stability. However, avoid carpets with white color in the sitting because it catches dirt quickly. Like in the sitting room, the children’s room also needs a carpet that is easy to clean and durable. Depending on climatic conditions of the area you are residing, the carpet materials vary. For instance, in cold areas most modern home owners buy thick woolen carpets to keep the rooms warm.

Fittings

Metallic window fittings coated with bright silver lining are the latest designs in home renovations. Door stoppers and wedges with same color as tile or carpet are of current fashion trends. Material of furniture in bedroom can be different from other rooms to bring distinction. The stairs are normally fitted with colored lights to brighten the stairway. The kitchen surface is fitted with water proof ceramic coatings that are easy to wipe and clean.

Bedroom coverage

The fact that most bedrooms are only inhabited during times of sleep, many home owners do not bother updating them. The bedrooms are one of the rooms that have so much space that is not utilized. Latest trends of renovating homes utilize these spaces optimally. For instance, you can put wall units and wardrobes to add spice to the bedrooms. Indoor flower plants can also be put at one corner of the room to make the room attractive and lively. Most homeowners in the contemporary world are also having a television set put up in the bedrooms. These latest trends in homes make life more comfortable and enjoyable.
