It's my birthday today and what best a topic I could write on than blogging. I believe it takes up most of my time, these days, as I'm growing my following. Apart from teaching and designing, I tend to dedicate most of time in blogging and connecting with like-minded individuals.
Blogging is indeed a blissful experience, because I believe it is more than than the sharing of words, it is the sharing of emotions and our identities. I remember how almost a year back, when I was recovering from my illness and captivity, my parents and relatives insisted me to start blogging again. They in a way, #inspiredtoblog! To be frank, I was not at all in the mood to do so. But eventually, I started when I took part in the #MyStoryContest2014.
The story I submitted to the contest was very special to me, because it was the first which I wrote since months. I believed it to be a fresh idea from the rusted thoughts I owned. It didn't receive much acclamation, but my friends and relatives encouraged my confidence and the beautiful story I wrote.
A few days later, I was blessed with a good news that one of my poetry, ' Revathy' was to be published in Blue Monday Review- a US based Literary Magazine. My happiness knew no bounds. I was thoroughly excited and that was the moment when my determination to blog, grew.
Eventually, I resumed to blog and than I was appreciated for my writings, poetry in the form of awards, prizes, recognition and friends.
This year, I was elated when I learnt that I won the TATA Literature LIVE! #MyStoryContest2015 with the best entry in the top voted category. The judges selected my entry from the top 10 most-voted entries and gave me the first place. I was published in their annual brochure and got a chance to perform my work in front of the audience. That was one remarkable moment in my life. I'd definitely cherish it forever!
I'd also like to take this opportunity and thank all my friends & family- Ankur, Mallika, Amaan, Nasreen Di, Saif, Abrar, Yohan, to name a few and all my blogging friends, readers and followers- Nimz, Rukiye, Upender, Atiba, Gauri, Sujata, Nandhini, Teny, to name a few for supporting my work and spreading the word to vote for me. I really owe you the happiness I earned! Thank you all, really!
Eventually, my story which I submitted in the MyStoryContest2014 got published in Writers' Ezine Special Issue. Apart from this, I've earned life-long friends through blogging and I'm really thankful!
Through blogging, I got the courage to build my own identity and brand and use the power of words, to make a difference. Recently, I won the #SugarFreeDessertChallenge for my Recipe- 'China Grass Pudding' and I'm called in to shoot with the renowned celebrity chef Sanjeev Kapoor, which could only have been a dream. But today, with blogging, I believe, I'm able to realize my passion and also find the true potential I own, which otherwise, would have remained hidden and unknown.
