What I’ve Learned Since I Started This Blog

By Albert Wagner @albertwagner4

It has been over 3 years.

This blog has been generating posts regularly for over 3 years now.

The posts have mostly been about issues that are misrepresented or misinterpreted in society, or ones that can help you somehow unravel the mysteries of being human on a deeper level.

And, one of the things these posts talk about in the midst of that in spirituality is progression. This means God is working on you, and you should be progressing in your life, whether you are aware of it or not. Spiritual growth, as well as heaven, are not static.

In fact, these posts have mentioned how seemingly contradicting statements in the Bible can be attributed to being at a different level of personal development. In other words, how a person views a topic in their 20′s might be a lot different than how they view it in their 40′s.

So, the question is whether that is true of this blog over 3 years.

Is any view different now that when this blog was started? Any different view in the underlying Meaning Of Life?

Well, first one must think about why they are writing a blog in the first place. The Internet is loaded with information, so why would a person read a certain blog?

This blog has an answer. The answer is that this blog examines underlying issues that people come across in their daily lives, with the intention of making them aware of things to improve their lives.

What I’ve Learned Since I Started This Blog

So, in that sense nothing has essentially changed in 3 years.

In terms of traffic to the blog, the numbers have been a bit disappointing. It seemed they would have picked up over 3 years. They have, but not by much. But, if you think of how many blogs one can read, it is not altogether surprising.

In terms of pageviews, though, one thing stood out. It was a certain post. Since the post came out in April 2015, it has had over 4 times as many pageviews as any other post.

It was called, "Why Do Some Suffer More Than Others?"

The reason this is brought up is that it was not the only post that mentioned suffering. One recurring theme in these blogs is how suffering, in a spiritual sense, is not just for the sake of suffering, but has redemptive actions. This is nothing new.

But it is something that people read about.

Maybe people thought it could help them personally in some way. With any luck, it did. Or, at least, it did in the sense of making them aware of things in their daily life to improve them.

Sometimes, when you write or think about something, one small idea can spark something that leads to learning something new or going in a different direction. That is one beauty of writing.

So, how about different views since the blog began?

At first, there was a take of looking at different ways of looking at the Meaning Of Life in a broad sense. For instance, your place in the universe, goals, financial, relationships, etc.

But those topics began to seem too broad. What was it about those things that was relevant?

Slowly, the posts either became about things pertaining to daily life or things that deal with life in general. For example, some recent posts reflect the difficulties of being human, and how it relates to something more.

For example, some recent posts discuss the cold weather, thinking of people as evil or not, God's mercy and appreciation.

Getting back to the post with the most views, maybe suffering is on a lot of people's minds. After all, isn't that what first inspire Buddha to reflect on life more?

Once in a while some ideas repeat themselves in some fashion in these posts. The same idea can be applicable in multiple topics sometimes. But there is an effort to bring new angles to spiritual principles.

No human will have all the answers.

But sometimes an idea can lead to a lot more. It can lead to a fresh look on life - an area to be improved on or a way to feel a little better about your life on earth.

Reflecting on these things is healthy and some of the things are likely in the back of your mind somewhere, anyways.

The change in views was not large, but more subtle. You might have expected more of an answer. But, as with things spiritual, they are abstract and underneath the surface of what seems apparent. It involves some searching.

Maybe it takes humans more than 3 years to develop significantly on this deeper level. But this author is glad to write these posts and has found it to be worth the time, and more.

The Meaning Of Life is a topic that doesn't run out of questions.
