What I'm Reading and Why 15 plus books make the list... No. 1

{via here}

Reading is one of my favorite pastimes.  Working out is the second.  But, gheesh, reading...has got to be one of my all time favorite total relaxation things to do.  Period.  Yep, you guessed it - I read while working out too, on the elliptical or treadmill.  Multi-tasking at its finest!
I read to...hmmm, relax, pass time, and escape.  I made a vow this year to read more "educational" books and not just read to escape.  I like being "transported" if you will into the story... as if I were, let's say a fly on the wall...  Any other readers out there do this?
When I say, educational, I mean learn something tangible from what I'm reading (above and beyond escape).
My ideal reading scenario would be... on the beach (listening to the surf) laying in a hammock - partly shaded by a ginormous palm tree, all while sipping a pina colada and reading an absolutely amazing book!
So, the big question is, what am I currently reading?  Well, typically I read one book at time but, when you are trying to switch things up and I do have limited time.  Plus, I like to read different types of literature depending on the situation.  Lunch time reads at the office.  Workout reads.  After work reads.  Bedtime reads.  You catch my drift...
This past year for Christmas S (the BF) gave me a Kindle Fire and let me say one of the most fabulous gifts EVER!  I love it.  Seriously, I really do.  S knows this too!  Thanks sweetie!

Here's the magic LIST!
Kindle Books...
Write Blog Posts Readers Love by Henri Junttila (great exercises for any blogger level and helps you get "un-stuck")
Private LA by James Patterson and Mark Sullivan (part of the Private Series)
Sketchnote Handbook by Mike Rohde
Blog Inc. by Joy Cho (LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this book; Joy did a fabulous job!)
Evolution by Joe Manganiello (Great inspirational workout read, includes Joe's "back-story")
Bent by H.B. Heinzer (I'm losing interest in this book; storyline)
Confessions of a Murder Suspect by James Patterson and Maxine Paetro (This is definitely written from a different point-of-view, you need to be ready for this.  However, I love the writing combo of Patterson and Paetro together from the Private Series).
I really like the ability to turn the pages (I've set it to "curl" like an actual book) hehe and "bookmark" the pages as well.
Real Books...
Making Ideas Happen by Scott Belsky (this is one those of books you need to hold in your hand, turn the pages, and be able to make notes with post-it's, etc.)  Oh, and found out about this book from Meg Biram's GSD column...
Financially Fearless by Alexa Von Tobel, CFP (another must-have book that needs to be held and so, you can write in it too)
The Skinny Confidential:  A Babe's Sexy, Sassy Health and Lifestyle Guide by Lauryn Evarts (here's The Skinny Confidential blog)
Training Your Labrador Retriever by September B. Morn
Labrador Retrievers for Dummies by Joe Walton and Eve Adamson
Sometimes, a girl just have to be able to turn the actual pages.
Magazines...
More
Shape
Inc.
Allure
Glamour
Women's Health
When reading magazines I much prefer paper!  Turning the pages while on the elliptical is sooo much easier.  I've tried the Kindle version and I'm just not a fan.  Oh, and let's not forget when your floating in the pool or taking a bubble bath - a paper magazine is so much better!  If I dropped my Kindle in the pool or bathtub - it would  NOT be a good thing!  Nope, it sure wouldn't.
I'd love to hear what you reading and why!  Do tell.
