Here's how it works -
Write a post about what you love about yourself this week and then add it to the linky list below. This is intended to be a time and place for each of us to stop criticizing ourselves for a few minutes and actually remind ourselves of the characteristics we are proud to own. So go ahead, look in the mirror, and see yourself through your loved one's eyes. Notice the beauty first. Here's your place to shine!
A few simple guidelines -
- Please follow the two hostesses. If you are a new follower, please comment so we can follow you too! :)
- We'd love it if you posted the button and the linky list, but it is not mandatory.
- Feel free to link to your homepage or your specific "What I Love About Me!" post. We want this to be a fun, relaxing hop so we'll accept all links as long as they are family-friendly. Thanks!
- The linky will be open all week so feel free to link-up on your own time!
What I Love About Me this week: I'm trying very hard to find lots of fun, meaningful activities to do with my kids this summer.
I'll be honest - we are a TV watching, tech-loving family. I have no major qualms about allowing my children to watch what I consider to be age-appropriate programming. That being said, I certainly don't want to spend the majority of our summer laying around or just watching TV. I want to fill our days together with enjoyable activities that may or may not also have some educational elements to them. So far, we've already done a pretty good job. Just this weekend, we took the kids to Kinderland, played in our new sprinkler in the backyard, and jumped into a new little kiddie pool (which I got for free - woot)!
This week, I have more great activities planned for us to do while daddy is at work:
I'd really like to try Rainbow in A Bag.
Paint with tempura paints, watercolors, and even just water by itself outdoors.
Make chocolate pudding - eat some & play with some.
Play with clay and playdough.
String beads (on plastic string because I hate how yarn frays).
Decorate paper plates with foam stickers.
Build lego structures.
More water play.
Make noodle art.
Play some of the games the twins got for their 3rd birthday that haven't come out of the closet yet (they got SO much for their birthday that some of it just had to wait).
Cook together.
Sing together.
Go for walks in the morning before it gets too hot.
Let me know if you have any more ideas! Just keep in mind that on days that daddy works, I have the kids, but no car since we are a one-car family. Thanks!
So, what are you loving about yourself this week? I can't wait to read all about it!
