Who remembers Matt Harding, the guy who used to dance around the world with a bunch of local people?
If his name does not sound familiar, watch “Where the Hell is Matt” below you may remember him.
Matt is a 36-year-old American from Connecticut who used to be a videogame programmer. When he decided he did not want to spend the next two years on a kill-all-the-people-in-the-planet project he decided to leave for a round-the-world trip, and filmed himself for two years producing a “15 dances”video.
The first videos, all with him center frame, play the background music “Sweet Lullaby” by “Deep Forest”. The original Song uses samples from a dying Solomon Islands language which was recorded in 1971 by a French ethnomusicologist at the Solomon Islands near Papua New Guinea. The Song, Rorogwela, was sung by a young woman named Afunakwa. He spent much of his time looking for this woman only to discover later on that Afunakwa died in 1998.
