After whittling down to a few favourites, one really stood out to me in terms of its classic yet contemporary designs: The Louvre Bridal! With countless accolades under belt, some of which include being worn by local celebrities in the blockbuster drama 'Dream Makers 2', but also being featured on the Wedding Vow portal and the New Paper.
I was more than confident that I would find the perfect dresses for my shoot. Arriving at The Louvre Bridal was an experience in itself: the boutique is as exquisite as they come with high-ceiling loft settings, plush sofa fixtures and soft music tinkling overhead.
My consultant Yee Lou was such a joy to be around; she calmed my initial nerves of being in a bridal boutique for the very first time. Warm and affable, we hit it off pretty quickly. She is very knowledgable in terms of what kind of gowns would flatter my body types and was also quick to explain how to move in them (due to the thick can-can that some gowns had to give it structure.
My appointment went off to a great start: I looked at a few mermaids but the Lourve Bridal team singled this one out based on my requirements for a illusion back (hello, sexy), mermaid cut, and something not fully white (Cause I thought it made me look washed out).
This Cinderella dress is made of dreams; sadly did not pick this based on my location requirements and the fact that I already had a poofy dress in my selection. The crystal-crusted bodice is so flattering!
This second one was actually picked out by le Fiance Ben, who had remained mostly passive in the selection process until he caught sight of this. Pointing firmly to this, his determined words were:" you need to try this." So off I went, and when I stepped out, all he could say was "Wow" while giving me a very stunned once-over look. For this show-stopper to give him this kind of reaction, OF COURSE I had to take it!
Here's a shot of the beyond stunning details:
Despite my initial skepticism, I literally fell head over heels in love with my 3rd choice. My last dress was unexpected: Yee Lou unearthed a understated blush-mauve ball gown with cascading tiers, topped with just a delicate diamante belt at the waist. Its like a true princess dream: my figure looked great and the sweet shade seem to make me glow. It's a dress that made me feel uncharacteristically happy; and by all accounts I believe that's THE kind of feeling you should have.
Of course, not forgetting the other star of the show, my fiancee Ben. He felt abit out of place, since its the first time being fussed about but he gradually came to enjoy the process. Here's him getting measured up for a more accurate fit for the suits...
Sneak peeks of what Ben and Yee Lou picked out!
