Welcome to the Beaver Home for Christmas!

Christmas 1

Merry Christmas.  Come along for a tour of the Christmas decorations at the Beaver home.

Christmas 6

This is not only my first tree in our new home, but my first live tree ever!  Growing up we had the same artificial tree, in fact my parents still use that very tree (I would say they got their money’s worth).   Hannah and I went with our significant others to search for the perfect trees for our places.  Our first few stops were tree farms where we had some sticker shock.  The tree above would have been north of $100.  After several stops we stopped by Home Depot, and good thing we did.  Brent and I snagged this tree for $45 and its huge!!

The tree skirt was crocheted by my sweet grandma and the ornaments were a combination of mine and Hannah’s.  I made this huge silver bow on top with some ribbon from Hannah.  I envisioned a maroon and gold tree, however quickly realized that Christmas to Brent means red and absolutely no gold.  So this is what we ended up with and I love it.  We also made a deal to alternate years to pick the colors.

Christmas 4

Have too many ornaments for the tree or maybe a few with broken tops??  Don’t throw them out!  Use them as filler in vases and baskets to add more color and cheer.

Christmas 5

I had the most challenging time with these matching wreaths from who else but Hannah.  I first attempted to hang them with Command hooks.  The wreath on the left was a team player and stayed in place.  The one on the right fell no less than 8 times.  By the time I made a trip to Home Depot for theses Bell Wreath Hooks I was ready to frisbee that wreath across the yard!!  Good thing I didn’t because I love the look and the symmetry.

Christmas 2

You may recognize this glass carafe from my Fall Décor tour (see here).  I took out the wheat and switched it out for these twig vase fillers with berry accents.  I didn’t even change the chevron burlap!  I think it gives nice height to the mantle.  I inherited this little snowman from a grandmother (either Brent’s or mine!).

Christmas 3

I fell in love with this sign from Hobby Lobby last year after Christmas for 60-70% off!  Just like my wreath in last weeks post, I couldn’t wait to pull that baby out and finally use it.  Shopping after the season is a great way to save money and to work on your patience because you have to wait so long to use everything!

Christmas 7

I have these two cute trees and painted sled on the hearth of the fireplace.  The trees are from Hannah and the sled is from Brent’s great grandmother.

Christmas 9

I love a little welcome sign in the flower bed by the sidewalk to the front door.  I had a similar one seen in my fall décor tour (here).  I loved the colors and the glitter.  It was only $6 at Home Depot.

Christmas

I hope you have a great holiday season and find some inspiration to decorate your home!
