Weird Prehistoric Shark Captured by Australian Fisherman

Posted on the 22 January 2015 by Nrjperera @nrjperera

The frilled shark (sometimes referred to as “living fossil“) is known as one of the rarest species of sharks in the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans, known to have a family history dating back 80 million years and to be living at even 1,570 m (5,150 ft) deep sea.

Just recently, an Australian fisherman named David Guillot caught one of these rare things while he was fishing in waters off south-eastern Victoria, Australia.

“The head on it was like something out of a horror movie. It was quite horrific looking. … It was quite scary actually,” Guillot told Sydney Morning Herald.

The prehistoric shark, which actually looks more like the Chestburster from the Alien movie, was equipped with a 300-teeth mouth that has enough power to rip fish to shreds.
