Selected readings to begin Unit 4
This week we begin our final unit of Year 4 of Tapestry of Grace. The focus shifts to the Middle East and will be the majority of the reading for the next few weeks.
I have to admit that we didn't get as much done as usual. My oldest is taking some high school level classes --- and while this is great preparation, it's also a glimpse into the next 4 years and shows us where we are doing fine and where we need to step it up.
Instead of diving into this week's readings full force, my 13 year old did spend quite a bit of time reading other literature for his classes. He loves to read, and while many of the books aren't due for weeks, he couldn't stop!!!!
Not a bad thing to have raised a child who loves to read!
In the midst of busyness, we have neglected our hands-on activities and lapbooking. We hope to pick them back up this week.
In addition to academics, my 10 year old got a 'new friend' for his blue dumpy frog named Button.
We were hoping to get a young female to share Button's cage....image our surprise when this whopper showed up at the pet store!
Meet Pickles:
Pickles, a female Blue Dumpy Frog
This is Button, the original Blue Dumpy frog who's very happy to no longer be a bachelor!
