Notice the targeting? …..Nice. IF ONLY I came across a great article on LinkedIn by Gareth Case titled ‘Top 5 Marketing Trends for 2012′. In summary Gareth nominated Location Based Marketing, QR Codes, Video, Social and Infographics. I certainly agree with a couple of them but to me it wasn’t about what was included, more so one glaring admission I thought and that is mobile advertising. I’m not saying anything groundbreaking here either, there’s plenty of stats or should I say projections detailing the rise in mobile advertising revenues. With the low cost, targeting ability and the fact that the advertising can reach our audience while they’re out, I see this really escalating among the mainstream more so than QR Codes for instance. I love QR Codes but they’ve been coming for a few years now. ~ Not sure if it’s been resolved yet but how about outgoing Yahoo Chief Carol Bartz facing the prospect of losing $10million because of disparaging comments on her sacking. If only she had not let those F-Bombs out. Ouch! INFOGRAPHIC OF THE WEEK There is no doubt whatsoever that mobile payments are going to go through the roof in the short to medium term. It even allows you to analyze someone on Twitter and it segments who they’re following and who is following them. I preface this again with, i’m not sure if it is already happening but here it is. #2 – Tell me if i’m wrong but girls do love getting peer approval for their outfits before going out. What if there was a networking site that allowed girls to take a photo of their outfit and upload. The outfit could then be reviewed by peers without all the hassle.
