was about my birthday. Today, December 27th, I am 26-years-old!
I watch movies like How To Lose a Guy in 10 Days (yeh, I admit it) where the protagonist is a 20 or 30 something who lives in a big city, works a great job, and overall, lives a grown up, stable life. Although I’m nearing that age, all the characteristics listed previously apply to me except the feeling of being a grown up. I don’t feel like an adult, instead, I feel a youngster whose life is still up in the air. Children are asked the question, “What do you want to be when you grow up?” and they’re answer usually is a lofty laundry list of occupations. If you asked me that question right now, my answer would be similar. There are still so many things I want to do! As number of years since I was born creeps up into the 30s, 40s, 50s, and even 60s, I hope that my ambition to learn more never ceases. One thing is for sure, no matter how old you are, you are never too old to wear a birthday hat. Nope! Last Friday, I made a pink, glittery cone to celebrate the big day, and I’ve been wearing it all week!
I’m spending the day the best way I can – with my dad. Every time I visit home, which is becoming rarer and rarer as I get older, we spend Friday together, and today is definitely no occasion to skip our routine.
See you next week the last Portrait of a Seamstress (gasp!) and a sneak peak at what 2014 holds for Madalynne and I.
