was about last week. I was in Florida! It was hot, it was humid, and my hair went poof most of the time but that’s okay because I had a great time. For the four days I was home, I completely stepped away from my usual guise. I drank wine at my best friend’s engagement party (I don’t drink), woke up past 5:00 a.m. (I usually wake up before then. Yikes!), ate food that I thought I didn’t like (portobello mushroom pasta), and I even went to an antique car show (out of all the cars, I somehow found the Mercedes. Oh Maddie…) Best of all, and I hope this makes you laugh, I spent a ton of money on things I don’t need (I saved up a lot for this trip). Clothes, shoes, accessories, a mani/pedi (Essie Ladylike is my new favorite color), useless magazines like InTouch (Fergie’s pregnant?). I even bought random stuff at 7-Eleven, like blueberry coffee, plastic sunglasses, and $3 movies, just because I could. I have lots of photos from my trip that I will be sharing next week, including a visit to my old stomping grounds – Mishka’s Tailor Shop (I worked there for 3 years).
On Monday, the day I flew back to Philly, my batteries were at 100% and I was ready to get back to work. First up is finishing a red tafetta dress that has been on my sewing table for far too long. After that, it’s back to bras and undie sewing and the jumper pattern!
