When it comes to wedding flowers no variety can quiet compete with roses and peonies, but there is a beautiful bloom that I’ve been seeing more and more of – the clematis. Originating in Japan and then in Europe centuries ago, clematis is still a popular garden plant, beloved for their distinct and vibrant climbing hues, and are one of my favorite flowers in the garden once they bloom. I find it to be the most perfect flower in bouquets or centerpieces when it comes to adding movement. It really is just stunning nestled amongst any other flower. It organically falls in whichever direction it chooses, and makes any floral seem a bit more airy and ethereal. Each one so different from the other, which is why the work so well with every season and wedding style.
Clematis flowers have gone by unrecognizably, yet most times they are the reason wedding flowers make such a statement and become memorable. Take a look at your most recent pinned wedding photos, you might find these little gems hidden amongst them. If these beautiful blooms haven’t flattered you yet, these lovely photos will definitely inspire you to love them…
