They say you know when you have met the right person for you. David said her knew he wanted to propose after 20 minutes of meeting Sam! He held out for a few weeks until he popped the question! He asked Sams father upon their first meeting as well which must have been a nerve wracking moment! I felt so welcomed by Sams family as soon as I arrived. The mad panic that often sets in when the bride is getting ready, never really happened. The church was very close to Sams parents and the vicar knew the family very well. He even came for the rest of the day. David is developing a great career in the military which explains the guard of honor as tehy left the church.
Just before dinner, Sam and David took a few moments and had a secret first dance to their string quartet. Brides and grooms rarely get a few moments together during the wedding day. After the wedding breakfast, the speeches had just the right mix of emotion, anecdotes and tears. Bands can really lift a dance floor and ‘Get Carter’ certainly got everyone up and dancing.
