This time of year I always advise people to take the “must have wedding trend” posts on wedding blogs with a grain of salt. Sometimes those trends are based less on what brides and grooms want and more on what editors would like to see. Need proof? The demise of mason jars and “shabby chic” has been predicted for years, but we still see them all the time! Still, we have ways of knowing some things that are coming.
One of those ways is by taking surveys of our brides and grooms. Every year we survey recent and soon-to-be marrieds and get their opinions on everything from which traditions are on their way out (hint: garter toss) and what’s coming (hint: Brother/Sister Dance). We also like to find out what they do and don’t like about using GigMasters to find wedding entertainment (hint: Mainly, they love us because we make life easier).
