During one of his recent stopovers in New York while on tour with Fiona Apple, we had the pleasure of having the very busy Blake Mills down to our Ditmas Park home studio. As a summer storm rolled in, Blake set up with just his acoustic guitar, and blew us away with a fantastic performance of “It’ll All Work Out” and a new song called “Don’t Tell Your Friends About Me”.

The room, which we cleared out save for a vintage General Electric TV, served as a sparse and simple space in which to showcase Blake’s earnest and beautiful songs. The thunderstorm, which I was worried was going to be a major problem, ended up complimenting “It’ll All Work Out” incredibly well. Watch both below and snag the free downloads under the videos.

Like the illustration above? Lisa Ito is an illuzigner (illustrator/designer) working in NYC. A child at heart, she loves cartoons and comics, and those influences find their way into her illustrations and designs. You can take a peek at more of her work on her website and sketchblog.

Special thanks to Oresti Tsonopoulos for helping out with this shoot!
