Special K
This past weekend, our family had the pleasure of seeing the Harlem Globetrotters at a sold-out show! I remember watching the Harlem Globetrotters cartoon as a child (yes, I’m showing my age here), so I’m amazed that they are still touring after all these years! Of course, there are new members. Bald-headed Curly probably hasn’t played in years. But now we get to watch Special K, T-Time (only the 10th woman to play with the Harlem Globetrotters), Too-Tall (who’s 5’2”), Tiny (the tallest Harlem Globetrotter ever at 7’8”), and all the other amazing players on the team. The children loved all of the audience interaction, too. Although the Globetrotters really did play a basketball game (well, the rules were stretched a bit…) with another “team,” there was plenty of nonsense during and between the plays. Both children and adults were pulled from the stands for fun games and tricks. Their mascot, Globie (there were actually several versions of him), did lots of hilarious moves. And everyone was dancing to the music! One bit of advice: Don’t forget your camera! I learned that from experience. I totally forgot mine, and my husband and I discovered that we’d even left our phones at home! So, we have no personal photos from the event, which is a shame. Also bring extra spending money because your kids will be begging for those souvenir basketballs, jerseys, and other Harlem Globetrotter memorabilia.

Going to see the Harlem Globetrotters was an amazing experience for our whole family. Adults and children alike had a fantastic time! They’re still on tour, so I hope you’ll take advantage of the special offer below to see them if they’re coming to a city near you. And be sure to vote for the new rules at the game you’ll be going to! On their website, you get to decide whether they play with two basketballs at the same time, score double points for each basket, can make 4-point shots, and more!SPECIAL OFFER:
