Obama went to great lengths, including violating a federal law (Section 1028 of the 2013 National Defense Authorization Act), to free U.S. Army deserter and traitor Bowe Bergdahl from the Taliban.
In a prisoner swap scheme, Obama released five senior Taliban terrorists from Gitmo in exchange for Bergdahl. At least seven U.S. soldiers were killed in the fruitless search for Bergdahl. (See my post “Impeach Obama for breaking federal law exchanging 5 jihadists for deserter Bowe Bergdahl”.)
But the Obama administration has done nothing for Marine veteran Sgt. Andrew Tahmooressi, 25, who is being held in a Mexican prison after mistakenly crossing the border with registered guns.
On March 31, 2014, Tahmooressi was headed to dinner with friends in San Ysidro on the Californian border with Mexico, when he missed a freeway exit and mistakenly wound up at a border crossing point in Tijuana.
He told U-T San Diego, “I was going to call them [his friends] after I drove off the exit, but I never got off the exit, I blew right past it. I wasn’t paying attention, thinking I had way farther to go. I ended up in Mexico with no way to turn around.”
He said Mexican authorities found three guns inside the truck he had recently driven from Florida to make a new start in San Diego. He was jailed, and is now being held in Tijuana’s La Mesa Penitentiary without bail.

The Marine veteran’s mother says Tahmooressi had served two tours of duty in Afghanistan and now suffers from post-traumatic stress disorder. Friends of the Marine say he has been tortured and threatened with rape and death.
Many have made the comparison as to why Bergdahl was the focus of so much U.S. effort for release, while Tahmooressi remains in Mexico.
Rep. Duncan Hunter (R-Calif.) told Fox News: ”as far as the administration went for Bergdahl, Andrew Tahmooressi is still stuck in a Mexican jail for making a wrong turn.”
A few weeks before, Tactical Firearms posted another sign taking aim at Obama: “I like my guns like Obama likes his voters: Undocumented”.
The store’s owner, Jeremy Alcede, said the undocumented sign was meant to be looked at as a joke: “Thank God for our First and Second Amendment rights. It’s meant as a joke. It’s meant to be funny.”
