A year after appearing as a band, Leaf Erikson has finally released their debut single, “Flying High”, and it does not disappoint. Reformed as the new musical output of the former band Flashguns, Leaf Erikson has retained their indie rock sensibilities and added a mellowed maturity that focuses on careful instrumentation. “Flying High” slowly burns with jazzy guitar riffs and a triumphant chorus bolstered by layers of harmonization. Spread evenly over four minutes, the defined production on the song allows for all of the smooth layers to shine through. We’re expecting more great things from Leaf Erikson in 2015.
