It has already been one week since Mr. K. & I were enjoying the sweet sunshine and heat of Marrakech… Now back in the grey and cold London, its time to tell you all about this crazy romantic 3 day getaway Time flies but great memories stay! After a short 3h flight – yes only 3h to destination sunshine! What are you waiting for, yallah pack your bags ! from Gatwick, we arrived in the heart of the Medina in a cozy, modern but yet traditional bed&breakfast called Riad Cocoon.

The trip couldn’t start in a better way as Mr. K. had organised the room in the most loving, passionate and beautiful way: champagne, candles & red roses with a lovely background music.
Something special was waiting for me in the mini Tajine dish you can see on the table, but I won’t say more Feel free to post a comment or contact me if you are too curious ;) We woke up in the morning and headed to the roof terrace to get some breakfast and start the day with a fresh orange juice – made with Moroccan oranges of course! The benefit of staying in such a cozy hotel is that you feel like you are having a family holiday Corinne the owner of the Riad came to say hi and helped us organise our agenda, recommend us some nice places and book some restaurants.
Our first day in Marrakech was punctuated with emotional events but we managed to organise our day and go out to discover the Medina, negotiate some items in the souks and grab some lunch at the Terrasse des Epices, which is located on a roof top.
This hot spot of the Medina is the perfect place to escape the buzz of the city and enjoy the unique view it has to offer. We grabbed a quick lunch and refreshments in the shade before heading back to our cocoon to enjoy a traditional hammam, scrub and massage… The best part of this spa program was that the massage table was placed inside our room, giving me the chance to lie on the bed and get some rest straight after! A pure moment of joy What a program, what a day!
More to come this week, watch this space! Meanwhile, checkout the Morocco Pinterest board for more pictures!
