Coming back from Turkey (more to read about this trip very soon) where it was 30 degrees and put ourselves back into narrow shoes and tight slim jeans was tough enough that we also had to deal with a weird hot and cold London summer weather… So to get past the welcome back home feeling, we had a very chilled plan figured out which would only require a little attention and a big appetite :D
We first headed to the traditional Saturday’s farmers’ market to get our heads around all the food stands and decide which one we would fall for. Overall, don’t be forget you are in the Chelsea area so the prices on this market match the destination But what a large choice you have ! Sushi, burgers, italian pasta, cheese boards, smoked ham, dumplings, cupcakes, pastries of all kinds and colours, indian food too! And of course, we chose the stand where the queue was the longest and the smell was the worst – the dim sum and gyoza stand. Too bad I dont have any pictures for this one cause even though we waited for ages, hell yeah the dumplings were worth it !
After filling our stomaches, we had to fill in our minds a little bit – just a little bit So we then hardly moved towards the Saatchi Gallery and visited all of the rooms one after the other. Enjoy the show – some of it, the rest is up to you ! ;)
What I love about the Saatchi Gallery is that they often have free exhibitions running and that they always showcase the most random, creative and unexpected pieces. Their boutique is also quite cool and you can purchase some replicas and fun gadgets, as well as books and usual museum goodies. The next exhibition at the Saatchi Gallery on LYA’s radar is definitely the “Private apartment of Mademoiselle Chanel”, running from the 12th of Sept. to the 4th of Oct. !
