Last month WB Games announced “Batman: Return To Arkham” and the release date was supposed to be the 26th of July. But now the game has been delayed. Here is what we know.
You loved the games “Batman: Arkham Asylum” and “Arkham City”? You are not alone. “Batman: Return to Arkham” will be a compilation pack that contains the remastered versions the two classics and Batman will continue fighting where he left off – literally. But apparently not anytime soon. The game was supposed to be released July 26 but now WB games announced that the game has been delayed indefinitely.
“After reviewing the progress of the project, the team at WB Games has decided to delay the release of Batman: Return to Arkham to give the team at Virtuos Games additional time to deliver a polished Batman Arkham game experience. We do not have a release date yet and will be sure to communicate that once we are sure the game will be ready.”, the publisher says.
After that statement the release was being targeted for November but apparently that isn’t going to happen either. As “ign” reports it’s possible that the November launch might fall through as well. In that case the collection will arrive early next year. Apparently the source of the problem was the “quality of the port from Chinese developer Virtuous Games.”
But I think: Let’s give them time. As you read in the statement, not Rocksteady Studios (“Arkham Asylum”, “Arkham City”) developed the game but Virtuos Games. Although “Arkham Asylum” and “Arkham City” are masterpieces the following games “Batman: Arkham Origins” and “Arkham Knight”, that were not developed by Rocksteady, were desasters (bug wise). So maybe the extra time will make sure that the new developer will not repeat the same mistakes.
