As we're well into Autumn and nearly into Winter, my Pinterest has been covered in cosy home pictures which has made me dream of wanting my own home. Seeing all of the cosy pins has inspired me to think of ways to make a room more cosy, so I thought I would share that with you today.
01. Cushions and throwsThis such an easy and budget friendly way to add some cosiness to a room. I've seen some really nice cushions around lately, especially the festive ones in HomeSense. I've also seen a few cable knit throws around which look lovely, they're such a nice twist on just a plain throw.
02. CandlesI'm currently obsessed with candles, they add so much warmth to a room and also create an amazing aroma. I like to have 1 scented lit and some unscented just because I find too many scented at a time can give me a headache. Candles are also a nice way to add decoration as you can get some really cute jars and holders.
03. Warm, neutural coloursThis is a rather obvious one but you'll be surprised at how much of a difference a few warm colours here and there can make. Adding some warm coloured bedding and prehaps curtains can really help to warm up a room. When decorating, think about painting the walls a natural color so that if you ever get bored, you can easily change the color scheme without painting the walls.
04. Dim lightingI much prefer the light of my lamp rather than my main light. Lamps create a much softer lighting which I think is more cosy. Fairy lights are also a nice touch to a cosy room.
