Wax Fingers Unleash Their Tender Side [Stream]

Wax Fingers is definitely not for everyone.  And they seem to like it that way.  According to their Facebook page, “if you’re a weak kneed lame-o, chances are you won’t like Wax Fingers.”  So toughen up and start enjoying!

Earlier today, the Portland-based indie psych outfit put out their latest release, a four song EP entitled, Tender. Their dark, sparse variety of indie psych is brooding and builds slowly and surely with layers of heavy percussion and synth throughout each of the songs.  Though each track is well constructed and meticulously arranged, none is as successful as “Bauhaus”.  As the opening track on the EP, it’s a rude awakening for any listener expecting a light and fresh indie pop album.  One look at the colorful kidneys on the album cover and you should have a relatively good idea of what’s in store.  Listen to our stream of Tender below, stream it on Spotify, or buy it on iTunes.
