Valve has shipped the first batch of its’ next-gen gaming console, “Steam Machine” to 300 lucky gamers in the US. Some of those lucky dudes have posted videos of unboxing this great machine, which comes in a very different kind of a box.
From the looks of these videos, Valve’s Steam Machine seems to be pretty heavy. These gamers had to hold it by two hands. Can’t say the same about the beta controller. One user says it’s light as a feather. Although I do like the box it came in. It’s different and sort of makes sense as it’s made by Valve.

These early bird editions of the Steam Machines will allow Valve to get a better feedback on the new console that runs on Valve’s own Linux-based Steam OS, before releasing it world wide. The company called this machine the future of gaming, so this better be one hell of a gaming machine.
Check out the unboxing videos after the jump.
