Today we are both honored and excited to bring you a new video from blues master supreme, James Apollo. The very soulful “White Line” is a gritty, rumbling get-down song propelled by heavy drums and bass as Apollo’s smoky smooth vocals slide coolly through the throbbing. The video features Apollo and his band amidst a string of characters connecting and colliding in a bar. The director, Jason Affolder, sheds some light on the set up: “‘White Line’ sounds gritty, like it was dug out of a filthy ashtray, so I knew we had to set the music video for it in a saloon… The Circle Bar is one of New Orleans’ great music venues and already has its share of characters; we just added a few of our own.” It’s a colorful video for a vibrant song, and there’s nothing not to love about either one.
“White Line” is taken from James Apollo’s bigger and bolder upcoming third full-length, Angelorum, out June 3rd. Check out the premiere of its one-shot video above!
