I love doing crafts around the holidays. Whether the project is big or small, for some reason this time of year has me wanting to create. The other day, while I was shopping at Walmart, I came across the Scotch® Expressions Tapes in the craft aisles. I loved all of the unique and fun patterns that were available and I couldn't help but grab a handful of them. I knew that they would be so useful for many crafts to come, but to start I wanted to create some art that I could hang on my wall for the season. This is such a simple craft, it's perfect for young kids, adults, and everyone in between.
Supplies needed:
scrap paper
1 nice sheet of paper for your final product
scissors or Scotch® Brand Utility Knife
Blue Scotch® Expressions Tape + Two patterned
Scotch® Brand Double Sided Tape
Directions:
On your scrap piece of paper, create your trees. (I did this on a scrap piece of paper because it allowed me to mess up, start over, place trees anywhere on the paper [allowing me to make more than I needed, just in case], and when you cut them out, it allows you to place them on the final project anywhere you like.) I liked using the patterned Scotch® Expressions Tapes for the trees, because it gave my project that Folksy look I was going for. Once your trees are created, cut them out with scissors and select your favorites.
On your nice sheet of paper, create snow using your Blue Scotch® Expressions Tape. I simply placed two straight lines of tape along the bottom of my paper. Next, using the double sided tape, place your trees wherever you like. This is where you can have fun. I only did four trees, but you could create a whole forest if you wanted. To finish the project, I used my Blue Scotch® Expressions Tape and scissors to create snowflakes. Then, display your finished project in a cute frame, on a clipboard, or on it's own.
This was such a fun and quick project. If placed in a frame it could make a cute gift for friends or neighbors, plus it's the perfect project to do with kids.
