From Torchlight Brewing in Nelson BC comes their "Warp 8.5 Cascadian Dark Ale". The beer pours a deep chestnut brown with a brown head. The aroma consists of tropical fruit, pineapple, sweetness, roasted malts, ash and hops. The flavour is of really tropical fruits, earth, ash, roasted malts, burnt coffee and medium bitterness. The alcohol content comes in at 8.5% hence the name with an IBU of 100. With so many Cascadian Dark Ales being overly roasted and bitter from coffee it was nice to try this one that still has so much IPA still present. This is what I think a good CDA should taste like.
Commercial Description: To boldly go where no beer has gone before... This Galaxy hop fueled cascadian dark ale accelerates you through the final frontier of flavour.
