Pacific Beer Chat 
From Swans Hotel and Brewpub in Victoria BC comes their "Venerator Doppelbock". The beer pours a deep reddish brown with a brown head. The aroma is of dark fruit, caramel, toffee and some roasted malts. The flavour is of roasted malts, toffee, chocolate, dark fruit, bitterness, earth, resin in the finish. The alcohol content comes in at 7.5%. While this might not be my favourite example of the style it was enjoyable.
