wardell WARDELLS DAYDREAM INDUCING SOUND [STREAM]

Wardell is an LA-based sibling duo destined for playlist takeover via their confectionary pop sounds. Two years ago, Wardell released “Opossum”, a single that charmed every ear it met. Then, there was long silence leading up to last month’s debut EP, Brother/Sister. The EP leads off with their heavy hitting “Opossum” then moves to their most recent single, “Call It What You Want”, and by the end of the all too brief four song-EP, we’re left hopelessly smitten and fantasizing of a Wardell full-length (which is in the works for 2014). Brother/Sister has explicitly dreamy guitar pop with liberal pinches of doo wop thrown in for some extra warmth. Their sound draws endless comparisons to Beach House, except with magnified melodies and vocals.

Wardell manufacture good vibes just as their father, Steven Spielberg, manufactures classic films (didn’t see that one coming didja?). Get a taste of their sweet-tooth appeasing sounds above and below with two tracks from Brother/Sister, which yield a powerful enough buzz to hold you over until their full-length finally drops.
