Student duct tapes teacher to wall for fundraiser

Technically the school year is winding down but there are still manyf fundraisers to take place. If you want great results from your students you have to motivate them. As a fundraising company we look after you to make sure you get the best results possible and that means more than just talking products. It means motivation.

Nothing motivates the students more than getting the teachers involved. We’ve heard of getting the principal to sleep on the roof, teacher dunk tanks and students vs. teacher sports events. Now there’s duct taping!

The duct taping was the incentive in Indian Rock Elementary School’s Parent Teacher annual fundraiser, Race for Education. For every 10 fundraising letters a student sent out, the student earned a piece of duct tape. On Wednesday, those pieces of tape were used to duct tape teachers to the wall, while students also ran their race to raise funds.

More than $22,000 was raised, said Colleen Igo, Race for Education chairwoman. Students sent 3,220 letters this year, about 700 more than they did last year.

That’s school spirit for you. Email us pictures of your teachers and principals getting into the act and we’ll share them with the readers of this blog. What better way to get more exposure for your awesome fundraising victory!
