A Christmas Wedding at Walton Hall.
Walton Hall is beautiful venue and the perfect setting for your Christmas wedding. Chris & Becky were a superb couple, I met them a good 12 months ahead of their day when they came to see me about being their wedding photographer. They had chosen the fantastic Cubbington Church for their ceremony. I have captured a few weddings to date at Cubbington church and it’s always a pleasure to see Graham, the vicar. He’s fantastic, letting you get on with the all important photography. I started bright and early with Chris for his groom preparations. I had Charles with me on the day, a fellow photographer who I had been mentoring through the Guild of Photographers. He was assisting me to get some tips that he could introduce into his own wedding photography. Chris was getting ready at Walton Hall whilst Becky was at home.
The weather, being winter held out for us and the sun actually made an appearance. I never know with December weddings which way the weather will go, always a bonus when the sun comes out. Once we arrived at Walton Hall we made use of the beautiful grounds. I do love the pillars to the rear of the building, they are perfect for portraits giving directional light. As this was a December wedding, when it came to the speeches the room was very dark, extremely dark. I think it’s important as a wedding photographer to understand lighting in all situations. Balancing your lighting with the ambiance of the room is key in keeping the warm feeling of the room and the day.
The speeches were brilliant, the couple were, Walton Hall was. Everything about their day was brilliant. I loved being a part of it and wish them all the best.
A couple of their images.
