Jewish Wedding in London’s East End at the Beautiful Town Hall | Mary & David

By Neilbowler @neilbowlerphoto

Londons East End for Mary & David.

My first Jewish Wedding celebrated in the heart of London’s east end at Bethnal Greens Town Hall Hotel. Mary & David chose this venue as Mary loved the art deco feel it provided.

I meet this wonderful couple a few months ahead of their wedding at home in Leicester, Mary grew up in Bethnal Green so it was only fitting that she returned to her roots for the wedding. David is from the other side of the pond in Canada. I traveled down by train to meet up with Mary who was getting ready at the venue. Mary was a brilliant to work with and wanted to make use of the stunning interior with plenty of bridal portraits before leaving for the ceremony.

Jewish Wedding.

As mentioned, my first time covering a Jewish wedding ceremony and I loved every minute of it. It was great to be a part of something so different. The ceremony was held at the Liberal Jewish Synagogue, a beautiful building in itself. Once Mary & David were married all the wedding guests boarded an old London bus for the hour long route back to the Town Hall. As many guests were from overseas Mary & David thought a sightseeing route would be a good idea. It certainly was and they had made the right decision. Once back at the Town Hall there was a short drinks reception before the wedding breakfast. Mary and David had a live feed to Canada for those that could not make the trip. Once the meal and speeches were over they then went on to cut their amazing wedding cake. I have photographed a lot of weddings so far and I’ve never seen a wedding cake like theirs. The detail was incredible.
