Finding solace among friends, sun, sea and the best of nature.I was away for the weekend visiting the beautiful island of Syros for work and can proudly say it is gorgeous. I just have to agree with a whole bunch of others that The Greek sun is not in crisis and so is the Greek hospitality, beauty and serenity. I present to you a little abode in Athens with all the necessity of an Island and yet few minutes away from the center of Athens.
For those visiting or staying in Athens for summer, here is your perfect evening swim.
"Alimos is situated on the Saronic Gulf coast, 8 km south of Athens city center. The Hellinikon Olympic Complex, built on the grounds of the former Ellinikon International Airport for the 2004 Summer Olympics, lies south of Alimos. The built-up area of Alimos is continuous with those of the neighbouring suburbs Palaio Faliro, Agios Dimitrios, Ilioupoli,Argyroupoli and Elliniko. Alimos has a large marina and several beaches."

Alimo is just a 30 minutes drive from the center of Athens. So enjoy the sun with me.
