"Mama! Today I'm going to see Sesame Street Live!"
"But it isn't until March. We are only in January."
"I WANNA GO NOW!"
Sigh. So is the exchange from a determined toddler. He sees the commercials (darn commercials!) and thinks he can just get up and go. It's not that I don't want him to go; I'm just hoping he catches the patience bug sometime soon.
This year's Sesame Street Live show (for us at least) is "1...2...3...Imgaine!". It is a musical (aren't they all?) that explores the beauty of imagination and introduces children to music from around the world. It features Elmo (don't they all??), Abby Cadabby and Big Bird along with various other members of the Sesame Street cast using their imaginations about who or what they'd like to be.
Sounds good. My son will like it. Perhaps this year we will even take my daughter.
Know what I'd like to see? A live show using all of the old songs from Sesame Street and the Muppet Show together. That would make this mama smile, and probably daddy too. I'd even be happy with some of the newer songs they feature on Sesame Street with the celebrities like Jason Mraz (I LOVE MRAZ!) and others.
(Read my list of The Best Sesame Street and Muppet Songs List: Videos included, with Jason Mraz, Will.i.am, Adam Sandler and More! on HubPages!)
But it's all about the kids, isn't it? I guess I'll just have to be patient.
