BOSTON -- Tomas Vokoun will start in goal for the Penguins tonight in Game 3 of the Eastern Conference final against the Boston Bruins at TD Garden.
"It's a coaches' decision, and I'm just trying to repay their confidence [in stating me] by having a good game," Vokoun said after the Penguins held their game-day skate.
Vokoun has started the past nine Penguins playoff games, but he was pulled for Marc-Andre Fleury Monday in Game 2 after giving up three goals. Fleury also allowed three goals in a 6-1 loss, leaving the Penguins behind, 2-0, in the best-of-seven series.
"It would be really tough on Marc, I think, coming in after such a long time," Vokoun said.
Penguins coach Dan Bylsma on Tuesday declined to name a starter for tonight.
Bylsma also said he planned to make some unspecified lineup and line combination changes for Game 3. It was difficult to discern what those might be based on the game-day skate because three players -- center Evgeni Malkin, winger Jarome Iginla and defenseman Paul Martin -- did not participate.
There was no information given on the status of those three players.
