Being plus size means I can eat Pizza without worrying about fitting into my size 12 jeans but it can also make shopping for party dresses a little bit tricky with limited shops and outlets providing plus size fashion.
Evans recently contacted me and asked me to choose & style a party dress to show my blog readers, so here you have it...
This dress is from Little Mistress at Evans and fits at all the right places. I don't have a huge bust (D cup, big enough!) but a lot of plus size retailers automatically think that because you're plus size you have a fuller bust. This dress is actually quite fitted at the bust area meaning it's great for people like me who aren't necessarily blessed with bigger cahootas.
This then nips in at the waist with a fitted black band and flares out to just above the knee. The skirt has gentle pleats, meaning the material skims over your hips rather than just 'hangs'. This also has an underskirt with some netting to give the skirt some volume.
The dress also has pockets (must resist putting my phone in them!). I also love that it has 3/4 length lace sleeves, meaning you feel able to breathe without being restricted but it also hides the top of your arms (great for me because I loathe my arms!).
I teamed this with 100 denier black tights and black suede shoes which have a 3.5" chunky heel (and a wide fitting for extra comfort. Hello Dancefloor!) and a pair of GORGEOUS earrings - again all from Evans.
I wore my hair up to accentuate the earrings and the neck detailing on the dress and I think the look is pulled together really nicely with a slick of red lippy and winged eyeliner with a sweep of highlighter on my cheeks. Just to point out before any of you lovely clever clogs do, I really should have ironed the dress before I wore it. FML.
How would you wear this dress?
