Verbal Math Lesson Level 2 Review!

By Upatdawn @lisakeva
Verbal Math Lesson Level 2 "We teach a difference sequence of math operations than those used in school work. In Verbal Math we teach addition and subtraction along with multiplication and division simultaneously to demonstrate the reversibility of both practices.  Objects or pictures are unnecessary for this course.  However, from time to time you may need to illustrate a point by using objects or images.  The decision to use these helpers is left to the parent of educator."
Verbal Math Lesson 2 picks up where Level 1 leaves off.  (Read my review of Level 1 HERE)
Level 2 covers addition and subtraction up to 100 and introduces multiplication and division with all problems designed to be done verbally.
This book contains 29 lessons with approximately 50 questions each.  How quickly you move through them is entirely up to your child.  But, working 10-15 minutes a day is a good place to start.
The first lesson begins with operations with numbers ending in 0 and the last lesson is multiplication and division by 9.
Examples include:
*Thirty-four stray cats gathered on a roof for a sing-along.  After awhile, 11 cats left because they were bored.  How many cats stayed?
*Nora bought two books, one was $18 and the other was $28.  She paid for them with a $100 bill.  How much in change did she receive?
*How many times more wings are there than chickens?
*A shirt has 8 buttons.  How many buttons do 2 shirts have?
*A chef divided 24 potatoes equally among 8 plates.  How many potatoes did she put on each plate?

Though I don't have a child in this age/ability group presently,  I will be sure to use this book when that time comes!
