Susan Heim on Parenting is pleased to be a stop on the tour for the children's book, Veggie’s Bully, by C. JoVan Williams. Enjoy this post and recipe from the author!
Unlike other books about bullies currently out in the market, where the end result usually ends with the bully and victim becoming fast friends after a troublesome event, Veggie’s Bully tells a different tale. In this book, Veggie Bunnie is asked by her friends, Carb Monkey and Uncle Bear, why she looks so sad after coming home from school one day. As Veggie shares her heart-wrenching woes, Carb and Uncle Bear offer their own advice to her, with Veggie ultimately making a decision about how she wants to handle her uncomfortable situation with the bully character, Piggie.
Joy Hannabass for Readers' Favorite had this to say about the book: "This is a book I thoroughly enjoyed and I recommend it to anyone who has small children. The bully situation has always been and always will be, and having a book like this one will surely help children love themselves more and have more confidence in what they do. And I can't leave out the illustrations; they are awesome and wonderful and fit so well with the story. The vivid colors and adorable people will capture your children's hearts and keep them choosing this book over and over."
Chef ReCee Jay & Friends is a children’s book series that Clarice Williams, whose pen name is C. JoVan Williams, self-published with Createspace on Amazon. Clarice is not a professional chef and the only furry little friends she talks to are the characters she created for this book series. On her website, www.carbmonkey.com, she shares videos, recipes, and comics featuring the characters from her book. With spring time in the air and strawberries blooming, the author would like to share an easy and quick chocolate fondue recipe that both adult and child can make together to dip fruit and snacks in.
