For those unfamiliar with the Vampire Book Club’s Alpha Showdown, it’s an annual tournament to determine which book character is the fan favorite’s pick for a character who exemplifies what being an alpha is all about.
Of course, we think Eric Northman should be at the top of the list – year after year! Unfortunately in the past (even though he’s been nominated) Eric Northman hasn’t won. (Can you believe it?) We’d like to see him win this thing – especially this year, because 2013 is the year of the final Sookie book!
Here’s how it works… The Vampire Book Club pits sixteen characters from novels published in the previous year (May 2012-April 2013, in this year’s case) in an NCAA-style bracket. Each day they’ll have great book bloggers championing for their character as he or she goes up against another fan favorite. Readers vote, only one advances. This continues until there is only one left.
Right now, we’re only in the nomination round. Please leave Eric Northman’s name (along with up to 4 other of your book favorites) in the comments over on the VBC’s site.
Even if you haven’t read the books and only watch Eric on True Blood…that’s fine too. He’s very similar in the books as he is on the show.
